Valves Aquassure bathtubs all come with ¾" thermostatic valves. Standard bath and shower fixtures use ½" pressure balance (PB) valves. A PB valve does not sense the actual temperature of the water, just the ratio of hot to cold water supplied to the valve. The bather must adjust the temperature every time it is used. A thermostatic valve maintains the temperature of the water by sensing and constantly adjusting the mix of hot and cold. Once you have selected a temperature, the valve will automatically go to that temperature again when the water is turned on using the on-off volume control.
